Skill Builders Institute provides workforce training, workshops and career placement support. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly when you:
Create an account or sign in
Enroll in a workshop, program or event
Fill out our contact form, email us, or call
Subscribe to our newsletter
Take part in a session, assessment or skills review
Depending on what you do, that may include your name and contact details, the organization you work for, your training history and progress, attendance records, assessment results and certificates, and any information you choose to put in a message to us.
We also collect limited technical information automatically — pages visited, approximate location, browser and device type — through analytics, described below.
How We Use Your Information
To deliver the training you enrolled in and track your progress through it
To respond to your questions and provide the services you asked for
To process payments and keep records of them
To issue and verify certificates of completion
To communicate about sessions, schedule changes and, if you subscribed, our newsletter
To understand what is working on our site and improve our programs
To meet legal, funding and reporting obligations, including for grant-funded or agency programs
Information Sharing
We do not sell or trade your personal information. We share it only in these situations:
Service providers who operate this site and our programs. Our database and authentication run on Supabase, our site is hosted by Vercel, payments are processed by Stripe, transactional email is sent through Resend, and we use Google Analytics to understand site usage. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.
Program partners, where a program is delivered with one. If your training is funded or hosted by an employer, agency or community partner, we may report attendance and completion to them. We tell you when a program works this way.
When the law requires it , or to protect our rights, our participants, or someone's safety.
Payment Information
Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We keep a record that a payment was made, for what, and when.
Children and Young People
Some of our programs, including the Youth Entrepreneurship Program, are designed for teenagers and are usually arranged through a school, community organization or a parent or guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Where a minor takes part in a program, we ask the enrolling adult to provide and consent to the information we need, and we limit what we collect to what running the program requires — typically a name, an age or grade, an emergency contact, and attendance.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe we hold information about your child that you did not agree to, contact us at info@skillbuildersinstitute.com and we will delete it.
Data Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and row-level security rules in our database so that accounts can reach only their own records. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and review it.
How Long We Keep Information
We keep training records — enrollment, attendance, assessments and certificates — for as long as they may be needed to verify that someone completed a program, and for as long as any funding or reporting obligation requires. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete information sooner, subject to those obligations.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and Google Analytics to see how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking them will not stop you using the site, though it may affect staying signed in.
Your Rights
You can ask us to:
Tell you what personal information we hold about you
Correct anything that is wrong
