Terms of Service
The terms that apply to using this site, creating an account, and enrolling in Skill Builders Institute programs.
Last updated: August 2026
Agreement to Terms
By using this website, creating an account, or enrolling in one of our programs, you agree to these Terms of Service and to all applicable laws and regulations.
What We Provide
Skill Builders Institute delivers hands-on workforce training. That includes:
Workshops and training programs for individuals, delivered in person, virtually, or both
Custom workforce development for employers, agencies and community partners
Career placement support , including skills assessment, career counseling, and resume and interview preparation
Skill Development, Not Certification
Our programs build demonstrable skills. We do not award certificates or certifications of the kind that require state licensing, and we will not until that licensing is in place. Where we issue a certificate of completion, it records that someone completed a program — it is not a professional credential or a license, and we say so plainly rather than let anyone assume otherwise.
Accounts
If you create an account, keep your login details accurate and to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
Enrollment and Payment
Fees, dates and what is included are stated at the point of enrollment
Payments are processed through Stripe and are due as scheduled at enrollment
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us and we will talk it through
We may need to reschedule or cancel a session. If we cancel and cannot offer a suitable alternative, you are not charged for it
Program and Partner Agreements
Training delivered for an employer, agency or community partner is governed by a separate statement of work or service agreement covering scope, timeline, payment terms and reporting. Where that agreement and these terms differ, that agreement governs.
Participation and Conduct
Our sessions involve group discussion, presentations and small-group work. We ask participants to treat each other and facilitators with respect. We may remove someone from a program for behavior that makes it unsafe or unworkable for others.
Young Participants
Programs for minors are enrolled by a parent, guardian, school or community organization, who agrees to these terms on the participant's behalf and is responsible for arrangements such as transport and supervision outside session hours.
Intellectual Property
Course materials, workbooks, facilitator guides and the content of this website belong to Skill Builders Institute and are provided for your own learning. Please do not redistribute or resell them.
Work you create during a program — your business idea, your plan, your project — is yours. We may ask separately if we would like to feature it.
Confidentiality
Where a program involves an employer's or agency's internal information, we keep it confidential.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the services in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using the site or withdraw from a program at any time. For partner engagements, either party may end the arrangement with 30 days' written notice, with payment due for work completed to that date. We may suspend access for a breach of these terms.
Dispute Resolution
We would rather resolve problems by talking. Any dispute will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; if that does not settle it, it will be subject to binding arbitration. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted here with a new date at the top.
